Werribee Park Sculpture Walk

Launched in March 2004, the Werribee Park Sculpture Walk is a permanent home to previous Lempriere Award winners and a spectacular site for other Lempriere finalists.

It is located within the grounds of Werribee Park and extends from the rear of the Chirnside Mansion to the newly created Riverine and orchard areas, taking advantage of the rustic and picturesque views.

Director of the Helen Lempriere National Sculpture Award and curator of the Werribee Park Sculpture Walk, Anne Robertson, says that the creation of this new sculpture experience is an example of how public interest in 3 dimensional art forms in Australia has increased in the past few years.

“The creation of this new attraction adds another level to the Werribee Park experience and no matter what time of the year that people visit, there will always be a sculpture exhibition in place. Additionally, with more than 100,000 people visiting the Mansion gardens alone every year, the exposure for these Australian artists is tremendous”.

There are 29 works in place including the past seven  Lempriere Award winners. To view a pdf of the sculpture walk with artists names click here.
